Wounded Knee and the Medals of (dis)Honor

("Remember Wounded Knee")

Help mend the Sacred Hoop that was broken at Cankpe Opi (Wounded Knee). There were 18 MEDALS OF DIS-HONOR awarded to members of the 7th Calvary (Custers old outfit) for the massacre of 350 innocent men, women, and little children at Cankpe Opi, in 1890.

The Medal of Honor, is the highest award of the military, for uncommon valor and bravery in battle with an armed enemy, NOT FOR A MASSACRE of unarmed people who had surrendered and were under a white flag of truce. There can be no healing until these medals are recalled. As long as they are still being honored by the government, there is the shame and disgrace of it, for all of us to bear.

There was a grievous wrong committed back in 1890, but there is even a more grievous wrong being committed today by honoring the soldiers that committed this "cruel and unjustifiable massacre", in the words of their own commanding officer, General Nelson A. Miles. (See his letters below).
